What it is

Balayage means hand-painted.

No foils for the visible pieces. No harsh lines. No awkward roots. The color goes exactly where the sun would have put it.

Balayage is freehand color. The brush moves down the hair the way light would catch it. The pieces brightest at the ends fade soft as they reach your roots.

That softness is the whole point. When your hair grows in, the new growth blends with the lift instead of fighting it. No harsh band of "I should have come back two weeks ago."

Before you book.

How long does balayage last?

The color itself lasts six to twelve months before needing a full refresh. The tone fades faster, usually six to eight weeks, which is when a gloss appointment brings it back to life.

What is the difference between balayage and highlights?

Traditional highlights are foiled at the root, so when your hair grows in, there is a visible line. Balayage is painted freehand without foils at the root, so it grows out softly. Both lift the hair; the difference is how the grow-out looks.

Can I go blonde from brunette in one session?

Sometimes. Most of the time, going light requires more than one appointment to protect the hair. We will tell you up front in the consultation. We will never promise a result we cannot do without damaging your hair.

How often should I come back?

Most clients come every 8 to 12 weeks for a full balayage refresh, with a quick gloss in between if the tone has shifted. The whole point of balayage is to stretch the time between appointments, not shorten it.
