Vivids are a different kind of color.

Fashion color is not a regular dye job. It is a process. Most bold shades need lift first, then the color, then a plan to keep it looking fresh.

A true vivid starts with getting the hair light enough to take the color. The lighter and cleaner the base, the brighter and truer the result. We go at the pace your hair can handle, not faster.

Will my hair have to be lightened first?

Usually, yes. Bold color shows up brightest on a light, clean base. If your hair is dark, we lift it first, and we do it slow to protect the hair. We will tell you up front what your starting color means for the result.

How long do vivids last?

It depends on the shade and how you care for it. Most vivids stay bright for a few weeks, then soften over time. Cool washes and the right products stretch it. Some colors fade into pretty in-between tones, others need a refresh to stay true.

Can you do a vivid in one visit?

Sometimes. If your hair needs a lot of lifting, we may break it across more than one appointment to keep the hair healthy. We will never push your hair past what it can take in a day.

Is vivid color damaging?

Any time we lighten hair there is a trade. We use bond-building products and go at a safe pace to protect your hair through it. If your hair tells us to stop, we stop. Healthy hair holds color better anyway.
